Bay of Islands Airport is improving customer experience by adding more car parking spaces and relocating staff car parking elsewhere to free up further spaces.
In addition, a new car parking management system has been installed ahead of the busy summer season that makes payment easier for those parking. A ticketless system with both kiosk and online payment options at time of exit will be in operation from late October.
Andy Nock, Chief Executive, Far North Holdings said Bay of Islands Airport has enjoyed strong growth over the last few years. Air New Zealand are now operating the larger ATR aircraft on some flights and Barrier Air commenced flying in August this year.
He said the changes to the car parking are designed to provide customers a more seamless experience plus the confidence of always finding a car park right in front of the terminal.
Customers will still enjoy 30 minutes free parking as part of the new tariff structure, with
profits received from the airport parking facilities being returned into the upkeep and operation the airport.
